NCTC Delegation Departs for Indonesia

An official delegation from the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) has departed on a study tour to Indonesia. The delegation is led by Director General of Counter Terrorism Brigadier General Zakariyya Mansoor. Other members of the delegation include Sheikh Ibrahim Ahmed, Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Major Ibrahim Naeem, Head of Intelligence and Analysis Department at NCTC, and Chief Inspector of Police Ahmed Ali.

The purpose of this study tour is to observe the counter terrorism and counter violent extremism efforts underway in Indonesia, and to interact and share experiences with law enforcement and CT and P/CVE practitioners. The delegation is also scheduled to meet with non-governmental organizations and civil society agencies engaged in countering violent extremist narratives through community-based programs.

The tour is supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in the Maldives. The delegation is scheduled to return on 7 October 2017.
