NCTC Participates in UN-CTED Counter Violent Extremism Workshop

The National Counter Terrorism Centre participated in the “Workshop on Promoting and Adoption and Implementation of National Strategies to Counter Violent Extremism” hosted by the United Nations Counter Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate. The workshop was held from 14-16 March, in New York, USA.

The workshop included country delegations from South Asia, including delegations from the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Nepal. In addition, international experts also participated and presented in the workshop.

NCTC was represented at the workshop by Major Ibrahim Naeem, Head of Intelligence and Analysis and Chief Inspector of Police Ahmed Ali, Head of Counter Terrorism Department of the Maldives Police Service.
